This report was commissioned by the Scottish Executive and undertaken by
Environment Resource Management (ERM) consultants. It presents the results of a
study into the nature of the demand for information about the ownership of rural
land holdings in Scotland and how best to meet such demand. The need for this
research has arisen in response to the findings of the Land Reform Policy Group
(LRPG) following a series of public consultations.
Information about land
ownership and in particular the need to ensure greater transparency on
landownership and to make it easier for the public to find out who owns
particular areas of land underpinned the need for this research.
